Tod’s debuts the Mosaic collection

ITALIAN luxury fashion House Tod’s has debuted a remarkable new series of sustainably made handbags and home accessories to celebrate the world’s largest design fair, Salone del Mobile.

Unveiled at the brand’s flagship store on Via Montenapoleone in Milan, the Mosaic collection consists of limited-edition shopping totes and pouches, as well as exquisite homeware, all made in collaboration with American contemporary artist, Willie Cole.

Crafted in partnership with Tod’s artisans, Cole — known for creating three-dimensional art pieces from waste materials — designed the series using leathers and salvaged fabrics from different production lines, designing each piece using the House’s signature Mosaic patchwork technique.

First used by women employed in Italian leather and shoe factories who would handcraft small bags for grocery shopping from production leftovers, the Mosaic technique breathes new life into discarded materials, transforming them into luxurious and eco-conscious objects.

Unveiled during a special event at Salone del Mobile, Cole has also designed a selection of Mosaic sculptures made from recycled Tod’s leather, which will travel between Paris, London, New York and Miami.
