Glass presents Tea Tree Lake – a beauty editorial by Heather Favell

ON A recent trip to Australia, I explored the beautiful beaches of Byron Bay and discovered Tea Tree Lake, a Bundjalung women’s birthing lake with warm, red-tinged water flowing into the sea. During this time, I met Bryher, a Cornish lifeguard with a classic surfer’s look reminiscent of 1980s Aussie beachgoers.

Inspired by her unique look, I proposed to shoot her at the lake, juxtaposing her strong and androgynous physique against the ethereal backdrop. With just a camera and an iPhone, we spent an evening filming, blending her lifeguard stories into the project. The shoot was raw and uninhibited, much like the environment.
