Monica Vinader Launches its Sculptural OCHRE Collection

BRITISH jewellery brand Monica Vinader is back at it with a new collection, OCHRE, which takes a bolder approach with hand-twisted metal, warm gold and deep red jasper. Made up of 11 pieces, the collection includes earrings, rings, necklaces, a bracelet, a bangle and comes complete with a hairpin. Each design begins in sterling silver, which is twisted and finished by hand using traditional silversmithing techniques.

Some pieces retain the cool tone of the silver, while others are plated in 18ct gold vermeil, offering curved metal that’s inspired by the pull and movement of rope, giving the jewellery its fluid, irregular shape. “With OCHRE, I wanted to capture movement in something solid,” says Monica Vinader, the brand’s co-founder and artistic director.

Hand-cut red jasper appears across selected designs, so expect rich colour to the silver and gold, and as every stone has its own natural markings, no two pieces are exactly alike; each is finished with a specially made clasp shaped to match the twists of the collection.

The OCHRE collection is available now at Monica Vinader boutiques, selected stockists and monicavinader.com.
