This season’s Chloé show seemed as if it started at one place and ended in quite another. Models with healthily glowing faces and naturally flowing hair walked down the runway in boots on a thick heel, with thin silk ties nonchalantly wrapped around the neck like French girls do. It began with long military coats – some of them tailored with large buttons, some shearling and warm – and suits with flared trousers and jackets with big lapels and a thin belt around the waist that added a feminine touch.
Serene floating maxi-dresses with countless strings hanging almost to the floor continued the mood set already last season and together with low-rise cleavage and lingerie-like dresses with lace details created a contrast to the masculine tailoring.
Then the show took a whole different turn to ethnic and folk mood when the models changed into ponchos, washed out denim coordinates with a fur collar or a gilet, floral dresses or python and patchworked pieces while clutching small bags on a long strap adorned with tassels or bigger ones in suede. The collection finished with sexy evening maxi dresses in dark velvet. It looks like the creative director of the brand, Clare Waight Keller is on a mission to really reinvent Chloé.
