PFWM AW19: Kenzo

COMBINING the best of psychedelic technicolour and urban street-wear, French fashion house Kenzo premiers its AW19 collection on the catwalks pf PFWM. Paying homage to creative director Humberto Leon’s dual Chinese-Peruvian heritage, the collection blends together Hiker-inspired silhouettes with Chinese prints and patterns.

Transitioning from a relatively monochrome colour palette to vivid neon oranges, blues, and pinks, the collection includes a diverse variety of designs, featuring everything from fur, to mac jackets, to beanie hats. Tied together through the brand’s different cultural influences, the collection explores a range of different styles, while making sure to pay ode to the brand’s Parisian roots through the incorporation of quintessentially 60s style French pieces.

While taking influence from its beginnings in Paris in 1964, the brand proves it is on top of contemporary street style. Exceptionally wearable in design, perhaps the most successful element of the collection is each look’s distinctive singularity.

Colourful, electric, and incredibly ‘60s inspired, Kenzo explores its rich historical and cultural heritage through its winter collection. Ending the show with an explosion of orange and pink psychedelic colour, the brand truly finishes off the show in style.
