Dries Van Noten SS20 PFW

THE Belgian fashion designer Dries Van Noten presented his SS2020 ready-to-wear collection collaboration with the celebrated Christian Lacroix. The Opèra Bastille runway flowered with vibrant colours and celebration of prints in true fashion of Lacroix.

The perfect cocktail of modern prints and French Renaissance-inspired gold embroidery and pearls was an ode to the distinctive styles of both of the designers.

The collection featured vivid coats and jackets with bold prints and decorations, creatively layered over dresses and trousers. The prints varied from the classic polka- dots to African wildlife- inspired patterns, such as zebra and leopard.

The looks were accessorised with statement platform heeled boots with the distinctive embroidery that ran through the entire collection. Hair and make- up done by the legendary duo Peter Philips and Sam McKnight making a statement with their high fashion version of the  1982 film Blade Runner looks. The models had big bright ostrich feathers and painted-on masks, but the most stand-out feature was the bold feather fringes.

Both of the designers stayed true to their iconic styles and have captured the very essence of French elegance. Christian Lacroix and Dries Van Noten are the ultimate power duo to stun the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week 2019.
