Penhaligon’s latest launch, the No.33 Eau de Cologne, launches this week, and to celebrate the fragrance house is opening the doors of its Wellington Street home to traditional barbering master Jack the Clipper, who is offering traditional wet shaves and beard treatments.
No. 33 is named after the house’s original address on St James’s St, where William Penhaligon opened his first barbers in the 1870s. The launch marks the 145th anniversary of the now-iconic brand, and the fragrance is suitably steeped in nostalgia and tradition. Based around a central lavender note, it’s enlivened with crisp citrus, warmed with pepper, ginger and cardamom, and finished with a smoky base of tobacco and vetiver plus a twang of vanilla.
The complementary grooming treatments come courtesy of fabled London barber Jack the Clipper – a third-generation master of traditional skill – and are available from Thursday to Sunday from now until August 16.
