AW21: Rochas

ROCHAS, the nearly century-old French fashion house, has just unveiled its AW21 collection in a flourish of luxe fabrics and bourgeois silhouettes.

The 30-look offering, presented as a digital lookbook, featured classic suiting and voluminous gowns elevated with dazzling satin accents.

Delicate sketch embroidery punctuated pastel-hued knits, while a bold polka dot print asserted itself on a host of styles from a double-breasted camel coat in a soft rose pink to an eye-popping monochrome on a pleated mini skirt.

The collection comes on the back of the recent appointment of Charles de Vilmorin as Artistic Director of the House. Since graduating from the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in July 2019, the 24-year-old designer has been propelled onto the international fashion scene, garnering much adoration for his painterly prints and sharp eye for colour.

“I am extremely honoured to join Maison Rochas as Artistic Director. Rochas is a brand that holds a special place in my heart because of my family roots and its rich and inspiring heritage,” said de Vilmorin on succeeding Alessandro Dell’Acqua, who exited the Interparfums-owned label at the end of 2019. “I can’t wait to add my personal touch and reinterpret the codes of this beautiful House.”
