David Mallett Expands Into Hair Accessories

DAVID Mallett is one of Paris’ best-known hairstylists, working from his salon on Rue Notre-Dame des Victoires and the Ritz Paris. Alongside his editorial work and haircare line, he has now launched a collection of handcrafted hair accessories.

David Mallett Hair Accessories

Made in Switzerland, the collection includes a brush, two combs and a French pin, each crafted from cellulose acetate, a material that’s derived from natural fibres, and finished by hand, so every piece has its own marbled pattern. As for the inspiration behind the line, it draws influence from Mallett’s Australian upbringing, drawing on memories of his mother Patricia’s hairbrushes and the cowrie shells found along the beaches of his childhood.

The brush combines wild boar bristles with nylon pins to detangle and smooth the hair, while the combs are designed for different hair types, including a wider-tooth version for curly and textured hair. Completing the range is a French pin designed to secure twists, buns and other everyday styles. Produced in Switzerland and presented with felt or velvet cases, the collection highlights the same considered – and chic – approach David Mallett has brought to his work since launching his haircare line in 2008.
