The diamond jewellers, De Beers, brought to light the second edition of their Moments in Light series on a night of celebrating women and talent at the Claridge’s hotel in London. The series of portraits, taken by photographer Mary McCartney, shines the spotlight on some of the most inspirational and talented women of our generation.

This year, Zaha Hadid, actress and singer-songwriter Karen Mok, Liya Kebede and Diana Krall were chosen to take part and in a set of short films share their unique journeys, inspirations and a particular moment in their lives they consider their “moment in light“ – a moment that motivated them to be successful that became possible through help of others.
The project is a collaboration with Women for Women International, charity that helps women war survivors from across the world by teaching them new skills of how to earn money and take care of themselves and their children and providing them with new knowledge to influence their communities and nations for better life.
Thanks to the Moments in Light initiative, De Beers, also known as the jeweller of light, will provide financial support for 25 women from Afghanistan, Kosovo, Rwanda, Iraq and Nigeria.
