FOR spring/summer this year, Chanel Beauty have introduced the Neapolis: New City collection and the Rouge Coco Lip Blush range, created by their global creative makeup and colour designer Lucia Pica. Neapolis: New City is inspired by Pica’s hometown – the ancient and historic Mediterranean city of Naples – and draws together colours and make-up techniques based on its fascinating complex history, with its Greek and Roman influences, through the lens of Pica’s exciting pure modernist take.
The collection features sumptuous warm colours, in muted and subtle – as well as bold invigorating – tones, and also introduces the Poudre à Lèvres Exclusive Creation, a lip colour palette, composed of a lip powder and a lip balm (which was inspired by the tempera techniques used in Naples to produce its famed frescoes) which gives the wearer the freedom to build up and create unique lip looks.
Glass beauty director Kim Brown says, “Neapolis: New City has bright beautifully coloured pigments with a lovely velvety texture. I particularly love the lip powder which has a gorgeous matt velvet finish.”
And for March, Chanel debuts the Rouge Coco Lip Blush – a very smart fun addition to their line being a super versatile lightweight two-in-one lip and cheek blush. Again, this line empowers and inspires you to make your own look. Brown says, “Rouge Coco Lip Blush has a natural but buildable colour for lips and cheeks. These are really pretty shades that blend easily on the cheeks and create a lovely stain on the lips.”
