Glass reviews new collections from JW Anderson

JW ANDERSON packed a punch with his most recent fashion week presentation. The film presentation debuted both the brand’s menswear AW20  and womenswear pre-fall 2022 collections. Although the runway lineup consisted of two separate collections, all 51 looks seamlessly blended together to create one exciting presentation.

The collections were an ode to “parties that never were, parties that will be”. Cherished moments of happiness clash and collide in a silly fantasy of unabashed fun’, JW Anderson explains.

Orthodox views on menswear were left off the runway to make space for Anderson’s exciting and playful designs. Tailored suits were forgotten in favour of sequin shorts and shirt sets showcasing a ladies’ bonnet advertisement.

Structural knitwear and asymmetrical hemlines were recurring themes in the presentation. Anderson experimented with both gender presentation and modern silhouettes. Not only can men wear dresses but dresses without a straight hemline. A floor-length denim jacket and a yellow tinsel zebra print dress were amidst the lineup of party-ready looks. The animal-shaped knit handbags are begging to be someones plus one.

Everyone is invited to JW Anderson’s AW22 celebration of fashion – where there are no rules when it comes to the dress code.
