Glass takes a look at the beauty backstage of Chanel’s AW21 show

PRESENTED in a film directed by Inez and Vinoodh, Chanel unveiled Virginie Viard’s AW21 collection in the Parisian club Castel. With garments inspired by a combination of ski holidays and Parisian chic, the Chanel make-up provided the finishing touches to the looks, evoking a tempting and charming character.

Make-up artist Lucia Pica first prepped the models’ faces using the Hydra Beauty Micro-Sérum and Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream, infusing the skin with moisture to create a soft, fresh base.

Pica then applied Ultra Le Teint – an all-day wear foundation, providing both full coverage and comfort, available in 32 shades. Pinceau Duo Correcteur Rétractable 105 brush was used to apply the Le Correcteur De Chanel concealer to erase any final blemishes, creating a truly flawless look.

Complexions were given a romantic finishing touch using the Les Beiges Powder, leaving faces radiant and aglow under the spotlight.Chanel Pinceau Duo correcteur retractable

Embodying the intimate atmosphere of Castel, some models wore a sensual smoky eye while others opted for a more stripped back and natural look.

Les 4 Ombres in shade 334 Modern Glamour was generously applied using the Pinceau Ombreur Plat 202 brush and softly blended to create a smoky effect.

Some looks saw Le Crayon Khôl in shade 61 Noir on both the eyelid and lower lash area for a more accentuated and defined eye. Eyelashes were also pampered, where Le Volume Révolution De Chanel mascara resulted in extreme volume and length.

To complement the eyes, Pica ensured to contour the brows. Using Stylo Sourcils Waterproof, the brows are filled and defined, where the waterproof elements allows a long-wearing result. The brows are set using Le Gel Sourcils, which is available in a light and dark shade as well as transparent.

Moving onto the lips, most models kept it simple with Rouge Coco Baume – a moisturising balm that delivers an intense shine – the perfect compliment to any runway look. Other models wore Chanel’s latest lipstick product – Rouge Coco Bloom. A rich and smoothing formula, this lipstick emulates the Chanel woman.

Completing the runway looks for the AW21 collection, the nails were not forgotten. After firstly applying La Base, models sported Le Vernis in shade 167 Ballerina – an elegant, pastel pink colour. The nails were finished with a top coat of Le Gel Coat to allow for shimmer and long-lasting wear beyond the catwalk.
