AS one of the oldest beauty houses in the world, Guerlain have long been famed for their dedication to luxury fragrance, and their history is inextricably tied to that of modern perfumery. Founded in Paris in 1828 by the perfumer Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain, the House turns 190 this year.
To celebrate this anniversary, Guerlain have collaborated with master French jeweller Lorenz Bäumer to celebrate the interplay of fragrance and crystal, creating a stunning new bottle design featuring the House’s signature bee emblem faceted and suspended within a pure glass hexagon.
L’Abeille Eternelle
Each Baccarat crystal bottle has been designed, shaped, cut and polished to perfection by expert artisans, using a mixture of traditional and innovative glassmaking techniques. The fragrance itself was blended by Guerlain’s Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser to reflect this balance of the timeless and the contemporary. A traditional Guerlinade base of benzoin tincture, sandalwood and ylang-ylang is infused with lighter notes of orange, orange blossom and almond, creating a fragrance with hidden depths to its score.
