Jo Malone London release Mimosa & Cardamom range of scents

Jo Malone London is the British perfume brand built on the concept that true luxury is found in simplicity. Their latest release, Mimosa & Cardamom, continues the house’s tradition of blending two evocative scents to create a classically beautiful fragrance with an unexpected twist. The floral/oriental Mimosa and Cardamom promises to deliver “heat and light”. Glass tested the cologne – particularly intrigued to see how well this concept could be conveyed in the lightest of the concentrations available.

The answer is gracefully and effectively. Mimosa blooms from the South of France provide the heart note of warmth and sweetness, whilst the top note of cardamom gives coolness. A base note of tonka bean, along with sandalwood and musk, provides richness and warmth, giving this fragrance a subtle and intriguing sensual undertone.

Mimosa & Cardamom is a soft, clean, and intelligent composition that perfectly fulfils the brief Jo Malone London set for their master perfumer Marie Salamagne – to create a fragrance that would appeal to the modern bohemian, who is a free-thinker in the rich tradition of adventurers such as Victorian art collector Frederick Leighton, and ’60s designer Thea Porter.
