Kenzo announces Britney Spears as the face of La Collection Memento N°2

FRENCH luxury fashion house KENZO has unveiled that pop-star phenomenon Britney Spears is the new face of their La Collection Memento N°2 campaign.

The American singer can be seen dressed in head-to-toe looks from the new collection, described as “something completely new with a reverent grasp on the codes of label founder Kenzo Takada”. In one of the campaign shots, Spears wears a cropped sweatshirt that riffs off of the famous tiger motif sweatshirts that propelled the brand to new levels of popularity just a few years ago.

World-famous photographer Peter Lindbergh lensed the campaign for the collection, which took creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon into the “rich history and storied archives” of the house. Taking inspiration particularly from the 1986 runway debut of KENZO Jeans in Paris, the collection is heavily focused on denim and the iconography of KENZO.

Of being approached to front the brand, Spears says, “I was really flattered – I love the brand, and with denim being a big part of this collection, it made it that much more appealing to me since denim is such a part of my own style.” Commenting on being photographed by Lindbergh, Spears continued that “having Peter on board made the opportunity exciting too.”
