Lanvin introduces The Curb Sneaker

DEBUTED during the brand’s autumn-winter 2020 collection titled Beach Birds, Lanvin’s Curb sneaker has become a cult must-have. Seen on the feet of Travis Scott and Virgil Abloh to Timothée Chalamet, the shoe has quickly cemented itself as an essential.

“I want to create characters and dress them in their imaginary everyday lives,” explained Bruno Sialelli, creative director of Lanvin. “I imagined skateboarders as they were captured in Hugh Holland’s photos. These sneakers were, in my opinion, the most evident and relevant pieces to correctly represent and understand these characters.”

Taking further inspiration from Japanese woven accessories found on kimonos for the laces and taking the XXL tongue from the classic skateboarding sneaker from the 1990s. Naming it Curb, pays further tribute to this sporting community as it refers to the make-shift ramp in urban areas that are used to practice tricks on.

Launching in new colour ways before being introduced into the women’s accessory collection to create a his-and-hers vibe.
