TYPICALLY celebrated for her colourful designs, Edeline Lee has packed her AW22 collection with monochromatic looks in all black with flares of ivory and bronze. For this season the British-Canadian designer dug deep into her archives and took inspiration from designs that go as far back as her student projects from her time at Central Saint Martins.
Edeline Lee designs for the self-defined Future Lady and she proved this yet again with this collection. The designer’s AW22 looks feature dramatic silhouettes and intriguing shapes while combining various fabrics to add texture and depth to her designs.
A sparkling black fabric can be found as ruffles on different dresses throughout the collection and especially shines on an ankle-length, black, strapless dress where the ruffles are placed on each side wrapping around the back and front of the gown.
A glistening bronze material becomes a real eye-catching element between all the black and white looks as only a few designs carry the shining colour. A flowy top and trouser set demonstrates the shimmering fabric perfectly. The trousers are in a culotte-esque style with a meandering hem line while the top is composed of two criss-crossing panels which flow into triangle shaped ends reaching to the knees.
There is something futuristic yet classic about Lee’s AW22 designs. From the glimmering fabrics to the intricate silhouette the London-based designer created an innovative and exciting collection.
