LFW SS19: Delpozo

THE Spanish fashion house is a recent addition to the LFW schedule, and with it, it brought sheer modern-day elegance for its spring summer 2019 collection. The brand defines itself as pret-a-couture which is the perfect way to describe it. Creative director Josep Font has a history in architecture which influences his clothes in the way that they are structured to highlight and define areas of the female body. The palette for this season was predominately pastels with the occasional splashes of vibrancy in green and red – inspired by the work of Bianconi.

Each model wore a fascinator shaped into curved halves that from afar, looked like a flower. High waisted structured trousers were common in the collection. Draping of fabric from the shoulder across the top half of woman created an elegant ancient Greek feel to the collection, while the bows hinted at the Victorian period. Sheer shirts that floated down to the knees were embroidered with sequins in abstract patterns, juxtaposing the more saturated pinks and greens that were in tropical patterns on evening coats.
