REJINA Pyo’s Spring/Summer 2022 presentation was set to the backdrop of the London Aquatics Centre. An unexpected yet shockingly grandeur venue to host a fashion show.
The brightly coloured 35 look collection stood out against the cool, grey surroundings. Necklines were all the rage – a neon green, lace midi dress with a one-shoulder, asymmetrical turtle neck, and garments with almost humorously large collars.
Garments were cut out of a printed fabric featuring a photo collage of personal pictures taken by Pyo on holiday in Seoul and New York. Drawstrings were continuously used throughout the collection to cinch and hold together dresses, blouses and skirts.
Graphic knitwear was a reoccurring trend within the collection – a sweater vest depicting an abstract city street scene and an oversized, chunky sweater with a tiny mouse climbing up onto a director’s chair.
Pyo’s SS22 collection made a splash during London Fashion Week and further establishes her as a designer to watch.
