LFW SS23: Rejina Pyo

THROUGH a celebration of women, Rejina Pyo inspires all in this spectacular masterpiece of a spring/summer 2023 collection.

Casting back to over 100 years ago, in a place where little thought was spent on women or their experiences in work and love – which Freud described as the two cornerstones of our humanness, today we can visualise these momentous feelings through fashion – just as Rejina Pyo has achieved here.

Through feminine tailoring like short skirts, slits and draped trousers, the collection brings to life this transcend through the years, and the freeness of women today. Bras, instead of uncomfortable, rigorous boning and structure, have instead been delicately crocheted to match the other hand-crafted elements of the collection, like the dresses and accessories.

Sheer elements follow in shades of lemon and sage and can be seen in multiple formats like button-up tops, skirts, and dresses. Each of which encourage the wearer to decide for themselves whether to wear with or without linings.

The soft and relaxed signature silhouettes can be spotted throughout, which allow for effortless draping across the neckline, and a reveal of the model’s shoulders adding a glimmer of sensuality to the collection.

Silk halter-neck dresses and tops steal the show with their statement embellishments of custom, gold plated hardware, seamlessly combing the elements of fluidity with structure. Contrasting this moment is the white and patchworked, two-tone organic denim styles that shake up the collection, and feature hand-frayed detailing for a more effortless look.

Swimwear is introduced, and has been made from recycled nylon materials, a celebrated moment for the designer. Styles include double halterneck straps and a one-shoulder look which have all been finished with the signature resin donut ring.

As a new venture for SS23, Rejina Pyo introduces the knot bag family in the object box and cross body bucket size. We can also look forward to a new handheld chain bag and an updated Banana bag, with new strap detailing.

Further accessories, like sunglasses provided from MOSCOT can be seen on the runway and create the perfect statement feature to tie any outfit together. Tinted shades are all in this season and we’re excited to see them carrying on into the next.

To round up, we simply must take a moment to appreciate the statement jewellery pieces that cohesively brought this collection together. Featuring organically shaped glass pearls, that are made in Italy, they are the perfect summer treat to add that extra sparkle in the sun.
