Louis Vuitton marks LVERS anniversary with copper edition

LOUIS Vuitton is marking its first anniversary of LVERS, the fragrance from a collaboration between Pharrell Williams and Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, with a new and very limited release of a pure copper bottle – with only 30 available worldwide.

Reflecting the original spirit of LVERS, a scent inspired by the healing energy of sunlight, the focus here is on copper, known for its energising qualities. Each bottle is crafted near Florence using the ancient lost wax casting method; here, one wax mould per bottle is created and then replaced with molten copper.

The result? A copper version of the classic cylindrical Louis Vuitton flacon, that’s engraved with the beloved LV monogram. After casting, each piece is then polished to a warm, golden finish that’s specially designed to catch the light.

Copper has been seen throughout Louis Vuitton’s design history, first, it was used to line trunks to protect from humidity during travel in the 19th century, and when Pharrell came to the Maison, he drew on this legacy for his SS24 collection, introducing copper-plated trunks and copper-finish bags.

As for the fragrance, LVERS was first launched in this time last year, and was crafted to evoke sunlight; warmth, life, and growth. Master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud’s mix incorporates galbanum, cedarwood, sandalwood, bergamot and ginger all come together to reference the vitality, warmth and light.
