MFW SS20: Tod’s

IN A celebration of the simplicity and minimalism of classic Italian style, Tod’s presents its SS20 collection at MFW. Influenced by ’60s era shapes and silhouettes, the collection reinvents retro trends for the contemporary woman. Mixing pieces like black patent loafers with graphic prints, the collection can be best described as classic meets modern.

The collection shines through its reinvention of simple elegance, seen through its interpretation of the classic slip dress, a-line skirts, and leather shirts. Revitalising the concept of femininity, blending together typically feminine and masculine pieces – everything from boxy blazers to sleek floor-length dresses. Leather headlines the collection, mixing up this season’s biggest trend, experimenting with paint-streaked prints and cut-out details. These are the strongest pieces in the collection, showcasing Italy’s adept ability to work with leather.

Models walked the runway holding miniature Tod wallet key-rings, as well as minimalist leather clutches, over-the-shoulder bags and beige totes. In true Tod’s fashion, the shoes of the collection demonstrated the brand’s distinct level of craftsmanship, featuring kitten heels, flats, and brogues.
