Blanco has confirmed that it will launch in September, and the first thing to be released is the twelve track album C-ORE, consisting of music from other artists such as Yves Tumor, Violence, PsychoEgyptian who are contributing to the Dogfood label, as well as Mykki himself.

Dogfood is a sub label of !K7, and is specifically focused to “give voices to the underground artists that inspire their communities”. Like many, Blanco is starting his own independent music label in order to support a specific type of artist that is often overshadowed by major labels, as well as breaking down stereotypes of what African American music consists of.

The live element of performance is a priority to Mykki Blanco, and he has made plans to take Dogfood Music Group on tour in order to allow artists to act as an art collective.

The debut release of C-ORE is September 18.
