Parfums de Marly Expands Les Signatures with Athénaïs

ESTABLISHED in 2009, Parfums de Marly is a Paris-based perfume house led by its founder and artistic director, Julien Sprecher, which translates the regency of the past into contemporary scents. Taking its name from the Château de Marly, the private residence of Louis XV, the house draws loosely on the aesthetics of 18th-century French court life, and in practice, its fragrances favour classical structures and decadent materials.

Parfums de Marly Athénaïs

Athénaïs is the latest addition to the Les Signatures collection and is aptly named after Athénaïs de Montespan, who was a central figure at the court of Louis XIV. Known for her cultural influence and intellect, the fragrance interprets those qualities in a modern context, opening with a freshness thanks to the neroli, then sharpened with bergamot and yuzu.

The citrus lift gives way to a floral heart of orange blossom and sambac jasmine that offers warmth. As it settles, tonka bean and vanilla emerge, with a lasting amber base.

Floral and fresh, Athénaïs is a floral that sits comfortably among the signature range that’s understated, elegant and wearable everyday.

Athénaïs 75ml is available exclusively in Parfums de Marly boutiques and online.
