PFW AW23: Lanvin

STEP into the world of Lanvin’s autumn-winter 2023 collection by Bruno Sialelli, where creativity and imagination flow freely. The collection is a celebration of the joy of making, of the thrill of discovery and rediscovery, making it a captivating observation of the brand’s heritage.

As you wander through the collection, you are taken on a journey through time. In addition to allusions to the 1800s, the Renaissance, and even the Middle Ages, the release also echoes the 1940s and the 1980s. Jeanne Lanvin’s inspiration is evident throughout, but Sialelli’s execution is advanced, unexpected, and utterly captivating.

Lanvin’s couture soul beats in each item’s modern craft in the form of hand-embroideries, custom-woven materials, and expert tailoring. Each exhibits the artistry, precision, and delight of its creators while retaining a raw, refined quality that feels both vulnerable and liberating.

The palette is a technicolour brilliance mirrored throughout in rich shades of green, lipstick red, and golden neutrals. The bouclé tweed, with twisted yarns in shades of guava and bubblegum, resembles astrakhan, showcasing the perfect blend of craftsmanship and modernity.

The new colourways of the Concerto purse and the Mélodie-inspired design of its clasping gems are just two examples of how the accessory collection emphasises both excellent workmanship and streamlined modernity, while gloves and hoods embroidered with tiny flowers are “couture gestures in and of themselves”.

The Lanvin’s AW23 collection is more than just a fashion collection – it is a dream that has become a reality. It is a reflection of the evolution of fashion, where the outward glance is turned inwards, and history is reimagined. The collection is a rediscovery of French elegance and exuberance, with Lanvin’s soul imbued through each piece.
