PFW SS16: Chloé

The girly romantic softness that we are used to from Chloé was mixed with some rather unexpected pieces this season. Track suits. The collection, dedicated to the ‘90s icons such as Corinne Day, Kate Moss or Cecilia Chancellor, featured track suits worn either together as a whole look or separately, contrasting long flowy skirts or breezy silk chiffon Bardot blouses for the Chloé girl to embrace her athletic sporty side.

The free-spirited fun bohemian chick wearing maxi-skirts and dresses on spaghetti straps in pure white or edgy black, alternatively covered in floral print or dyed rainbow stripes was also vastly represented in the collection.

Long talisman necklaces reaching to the mid thighs, open-weave knit dresses, frayed denim, paisley and dresses with a myriad of little tassels hanging on long strings are only additional proofs of that influence.

But the creative director, Clare Waight Keller, gave us the softness, the girliness and the romance that we know and love about Chloé after all. Lingerie-like lace slip-ons, tops and minis tied with big bows and white frilled dresses with edging in the colours of the rainbow with matching lace up sandals were part of the offering as well. SS16 is going to be a joyful season according to Waight Keller.
