DOUBLET’S Spring/Summer 2021 collection titled A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY FOR YOU presents a playful, youthful narrative that exhibits the label’s relaxed, eclectic ethos emblematic of youth culture and fun.
The video to accompany the seasonal range follows a bear, clad in a completely crocheted costume by Doublet. To occupy themselves during the summer, the bear celebrates their unbirthday, gifting a selection of friends the SS21 collection.
The Japanese label explores the theme STRANGEST COMFORT, an investigation of cultural notions that became normality due to the pandemic. The range includes a selection of layered pieces and oversized items. A take on punk, youth style juxtaposed against symbols of childhood – notable pieces include a barista’s apron and a food storage satchel.
The vibrancy of this collection marks the prominence of youth culture and the trends that emerged through social media during lockdown.
