Pharrell Williams adds LVERS to Louis Vuitton’s fragrance line

Funnelling his creative vision into fragrance, Pharrell Williams unveils a new perfume for Louis Vuitton titled LVERS.

As the House’s menswear creative director, the multi-hyphenate is making the idea of light a central theme in his debut show for the brand and also in his design language, shape-shifting its meaning into a scent.

With the help of Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and his daughter Camille Cavallier Belletrud, the trio dived into the philosophy of sunlight as a metaphor for love, hoping to pose the question: ‘What will you do when the sun shines on you?’.

“The theme of sunlight that lit up Pharrell’s debut show on Pont Neuf in June 2023 inspired us to convey photosynthesis in scent. It may sound abstract, but if you look at life, photosynthesis is the starting point for everything,” said Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.

The result is a woody perfume that pinpoints natural greenery through the reintroduction of the crisp tone of galbanum. Building upon this foundation, sandalwood is added for warmth and cedar brings a layer of sensuality to the aroma. Finally, the scent unravels with a burst of zesty bergamot and ginger to elevate the brightness of the creation.

Finding a new way to intertwine nature, fashion and fragrance, Lovers beckons a new chapter in Louis Vuitton’s fragrance story.
