Shamballa Jewels opens store in New York City

A TOTAL of 12 years ago, in Copenhagen, Danish brothers Mads and Mikkel Kornerup founded the now highly sought after Shamballa Jewels  and have now selected NYC as the location for the brand’s second store. It is also marks the first Shamballa Jewels store to open on overseas. HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark officially opened the store earlier in the year.

Co-designed by the Kornerup brothers, the New York Shamballa Jewels store unites ancient Eastern philosophies and Nordic design traditions (as does their jewellery) through capturing their influences through interior design of the store. Using “signature smoked oak, brass elements and untreated bricks walls”, the distinctive appearance of the jewellery store is intriguingly unorthodox.

The main attraction of the Shamballa Jewels NYC store is the floating golden mandala centerpiece with attached hanging lingam. Completely contemporary, the art piece is the discussion point of the 1,940 sq. ft store and adds an extra dimension to the SoHo location. Welcoming old and new customers, the emporium offers an opportunity to gaze at, purchase and personalise the jewellery within a space which represents Shamballa Jewels and the brand’s values.
