US Girls new track – Woman’s Work

Meg Remy aka US Girls is soon to be back with more synth anthems with her upcoming album Half Free coming out September 25th.

Meg Remy aka US Girls

Ahead of its release, US Girls has shared the second track on the album named Woman’s Work. The song combines sounds reminiscent of 80’s pop along with repetitive drumbeats and eerie vocals, which create a provocatively raw, sound that contrasts with her earlier lo-fi style. The music video for Women’s Work evokes the same emotion in its use of visuals as the music featuring as it does repetitive religious imagery such as the third eye and statues of Saint Mary.

Meg Remy’s new music has been described as a significant transition from the earlier US Girls records, as we can expect to hear a more stripped back, heavier sound. The Toronto artist bares similar resemblance in sound to other female synth artists on her new label 4AD, such as Grimes, Purity Ring and FKA Twigs.

The album will include guest features including Slim Twig (DFA), Ben Cook (Fucked Up), Amanda Crist and Tony Price.
