RETURNING for another instalment, Fendi Renaissance – Anima Mundi partners this time with Sejong Soloists – a world-class, contemporary chamber orchestra. Ending a tough year that effected everyone globally, the inspiration behind the performance was to share a positive message for us all to enjoy. A message of regeneration centred around art, fashion and music, bringing everyone together through one performance.
Sejong Soloists
Beginning the musical adventure in Rome and then crossing all the way over to Shanghai and Tokyo, the fourth performance is set in Seoul. The Sejong Soloists orchestra plays Concerto No. 3, RV 310 from L’estro armonico; written by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi.
Suliman Tekalli and Jung Eun Kang in Fendi
Suliman Tekalli, the male violinist wears Fendi FW20 and Jung Eun Kang, the female violinist is wearing Fendi Couture FW20, highlighting the savoir-faire that Fendi is known for. Collectively, the eleven musicians ensure a safe distance between them abiding by Covid-19 regulations.
Sejong Soloists outside the Dongdaemum Design Plaza
Performed at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, designed by British-Iraqi Zaha Hadid, renowned architect and artist. The building is the world’s largest three-dimensional amorphous structure with curves that are widely recognised globally. Mirroring the Plaza, the message Fendi hope to employ is “A balanced arrangement with pliability” – meaning, they hope to share the idea of smooth coexistence between the new and the old, tradition and innovation.
With the new year fast approaching, the performance is a reminder that after a year that no one could have predicted, there is always some beauty in the darkness.
