London’s favourite glam-master of poetic prose, Jeremy Reed, is launching his latest collection of poems, Sooner or Later Frank, this week.
Reed is a writer who constantly shapes and reforms poetic frontiers with his work. Published by Enitharmon, Sooner or Later Frank’s verbal bedazzling features Reed’s living, breathing optimisation of Soho and the West End, charting its outlaws, opportune strangers and rogue mavericks, with acute Reedian visual detailing of course.
By construing the capital into profound personal affairs, Reed is sure to beguile his admirers, one of whom was the seminal novelist J G Ballard, who considered Reed to be the only contemporary writer worth reading. Reed’s poetry has been also hailed by John Ashbery as a “as dazzling tour de force”.
