A Rejuvenating Break Amid Countryside Splendour at Coworth Park

A 45-minute drive from the heart of London and we’ve arrived at Coworth Park – a 240-acre estate where British countryside meets the elegance of Dorchester Collection. Situated in Ascot, along the borders of Windsor Great Park, Berkshire, its immaculate cream façade surrounded by perfectly manicured lawns makes a striking first impression.

The Spa at Coworth Park

After checking in at Mansion House, we’re led to our Weston Suite, filled with lashings of light from the tall windows that overlook the grounds. There’s a sitting area with a squishy sofa and a dining table. The space resembles the quiet ease of a private apartment rather than a hotel room, with every detail – fresh flowers, crisp linen and sweet treats – carefully considered.

We saunter over to the newly renovated spa, the centrepiece of our stay. Built into the landscape and crowned with a living roof of fragrant herbs, freshly cultivated and utilised for some of the spa’s signature treatments, it seamlessly intertwines with the outdoors.

The Pool

The 18-metre indoor pool area has been upgraded. It’s bordered by loungers and an outdoor sun terrace, which is ideal for breaks between sauna sessions or laps in the water. The gym has been fitted with Technogym’s Artis Line and includes a check-up station that assesses movement and strength to individualise training sessions.

The thermal suite includes a Finnish sauna, a steam room lined with citrine, and a snow shower for a bracing hit of cold. Moving between heat and ice is shockingly refreshing –it’s the kind of reset you only realise you needed once you’ve done it.

I book a Rejuvenate treatment, which includes a 30-minute back and shoulder massage followed by a facial. The experience begins with grounding breathing techniques –simple, calming, and effective – guided by my masseuse who is both highly skilled and intuitive. She takes time to discuss any areas of tension and offers four different oils to tailor the massage. Throughout my treatment, she checks to ensure the pressure is just right, always adapting to what my body needs.

My facial is equally personalised, using all-natural formulations that feature antioxidant rich Hebridean seaweed extract by Scottish brand Ishga, which is gentle yet effective. I leave feeling completely restored, clear-headed, unknotted and deeply relaxed.

The dinner at Adam Smith’s Michelin-starred restaurant is the highlight of our weekend. The 10-courses tasting menu is a three-hour dining extravaganza, with each plate celebrating local British ingredients. Service is precise without being over-formal, with the waiter discreetly switching my cutlery around to suit my left handedness.

Coworth Park has delivered the perfect weekend break. Time slows, routine disappears and memories remain.
