British fashion designer Alice Temperley has commissioned games board artist Alexandra Llewellyn to design an exclusive backgammon board that celebrates the Temperley brand.
Delving into the Temperley archives, Llewellyn drew inspiration from a print prominent in the AW12 collection. The laurel burl board, produced in England by traditional British joiners, comes complete with brass cased playing pieces faced with bright orange and green stone, matching the jewels in Temperley’s original design.
Alice says, “I’m very excited to collaborate with Alexandra, whose work I have long admired. Alexandra’s boards reawaken a joyous childhood emotion that translates so well for Temperley’s fun-loving ethos.”
Alexandra said of the design: “Just as Alice takes a detailed and luxurious approach to each item of
clothing she makes, I have done the same with the backgammon board.”
The Temperley Board, priced at £2,700, is available to buy through the Temperley website and boutiques in Mayfair and Notting Hill.
