Bella Freud collaborates with Daisy Walker to celebrate love this Valentine’s Day

IN celebration of Valentine’s Day, Bella Freud has launched her latest candle, Love is the Drug, whilst collaborating with photographer Daisy Walker.

In aid of Solace Women’s Aid, the pair have gelled their passions for the visual arts and curated a series of intimate portraits. Picturing a solo girl, female couple and male couple, the images celebrate love in its different forms, explore the body, and shed light on the importance of self-love.

“Solace Women’s Aid is a charity very close to my heart and more important than ever at a time when domestic abuse has increased dramatically due to multiple lockdowns. I received therapy from Solace that completely changed my life and my relationship to my body, and this body of work reflects all shapes of love,” says Daisy Walker.

A print version of the male couple is available to purchase on Bella’s site. Of each sale, 25 per cent will be donated to the charity.

The images elucidate Freud’s Love is the Drug candle. With charming scents of maraschino cherry, violet and musk, the candle gracefully radiates love. It is the perfect gift to a loved one or treat for oneself this Valentine’s Day.
