Bottega Veneta introduce exclusive butterfly handbag capsule collection

BOTTEGA Veneta is launching a capsule collection in the UK designed by Tomas Maier. The collection will be exclusively available at Harrods and consists of a collection of bags and small leather goods incorporating a butterfly design. The butterfly was first introduced in the Bottega Veneta collections in the late 1970s and has been a signature and symbol of the brand since.

The collection consists of limited edition baby Olimpia bags featuring butterflies in different sized and colours, applied by using special techniques or stitched on the intrecciato weave.

The collection also features an exclusive version of Bottega Veneta’s most popular bag, the cabat in light pink, above. The cabat was designed by Tomas Maier when he joined in 2001 and is woven by hand from strips of double-faced leather on the inside and outside. Each bag requires three entire days of work to be completed at Bottega Veneta’s Atelier located in Montebello Vicentino near Vicenza in Italy.

This will be a unique opportunity for Bottega Veneta collectors to order these on special order in a limited choice of colours and leathers.

The collection is exclusively available at Harrods from May 15.
