BURBERRY has partnered with Royal Collection Trust to launch a capsule collection celebrating the centenary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II. The collection precedes a landmark fashion exhibition dedicated to the late monarch.
The collaboration introduces four new designs inspired by Queen Elizabeth II’s enduring association with Burberry and her well-documented appreciation for practical yet elegant outdoor dressing. The Queen wore the British brand throughout her reign and granted it a Royal Warrant in 1955, often choosing its outerwear for country pursuits.

At the centre of the capsule is a belted car coat crafted in Castleford, Yorkshire, from lightweight cotton gabardine. Produced using certified organic cotton and lined with organic silk, the coat appears in a distinctive holly green tone woven with contrasting yarns that create a subtle iridescent effect. The colour palette carries through the collection in a newly developed version of the Burberry House Check, designed specifically for the project.
The check takes inspiration from the historic Old Stewart Tartan once worn by the Queen and appears on the coat’s silk lining, a Scottish-woven cashmere scarf, and the border of a silk twill scarf printed with a hand-painted illustration of Balmoral Castle, the Royal Family’s Highland retreat.
The capsule also includes a jewellery piece: a gold-plated brooch shaped as a corgi dressed in an enamelled Burberry check coat, finished with the brand’s knight motif resting on a freshwater pearl.

The collaboration arrives ahead of the major exhibition Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style, opening on 10 April 2026 at The King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace. The exhibition will be the most extensive presentation of the Queen’s fashion ever staged, featuring around 200 garments and accessories from across ten decades of her life.
Among the items on display are three Burberry pieces connected to the monarch: a hooded riding cape from around 2010, an original invoice for a Burberry coat ordered in 1966, and a Burberry Check silk scarf dating from 2013.

Alongside clothing, the exhibition will include jewellery, hats, shoes and accessories, as well as previously unseen design sketches, fabric samples and handwritten correspondence that shed light on the creative process behind dressing one of the world’s most recognisable figures.
Organised by Royal Collection Trust, the exhibition forms part of the broader commemorations marking the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth and will be accompanied by the official centenary publication: Queen Elizabeth II: Fashion and Style.
