BURBERRY and Smythson have joined forces for the first time to create a collection of stylish leather-bound notebooks, playing cards, and roll-up board games. Arriving this month, the collaboration combines Burberry’s famous checks and British-weather references with Smythson’s stationery and leather accessories.

Travel is a shared interest for both brands, with a history behind it too: Burberry’s outerwear has equipped generations of explorers, and Smythson produced bespoke diaries and logbooks for the Transglobe Expedition led by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Charles R. Burton and Oliver Shepard. The stationer, which opened on London’s New Bond Street in 1887, also introduced its first portable diary in 1908.
For this collection, leather notebook covers carry playful illustrations and British phrases inspired by the weather, exploration and the outdoors. Each is handmade at Smythson’s bookbinding workshop in Hertfordshire and filled with its signature pale-blue Featherweight paper. Opening and closing pages feature either Burberry’s House Check or a tonal map of London drawn from its Autumn/ Winter 2026 runway collection.

There are games in the line too, cue the roll-up chess and backgammon boards that come in Smythson’s Panama crossgrain leather, with smooth leather interiors and zipped compartments lined in House Check. And they’re designed to pack away easily for weekends away.
These sit alongside playing-card sets in leather travel cases, with illustrated, gilt-edged cards inside. The double-pack edition also includes a Smythson Wafer pencil and Featherweight-paper notepad for keeping score. Across the collection, complimentary gold stamping allows up to three initials to be added, neatly timed for Christmas presents.
The launch follows Smythson’s other collaboration this month with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, which offers notebooks, stationery and travel accessories, bringing another British name into its expanding circle of cool collaborators.
