Bvlgari’s Eclettica: Where Roman Artistry Meets High Jewellery Mastery

BVLGARI’s Eclettica is no ordinary jewellery offering. Comprising the Roman label’s dauntless vision and its masterful, 142-year-old metal craftsmanship methods, Eclettica offers a “living dialogue with art,” where conceptual high jewellery thrives.

At the core of Eclettica is Capolavori, a series of nine high jewellery creations informed by the spirit of sculpture, painting, and architecture in the Eternal City. These standout pieces, according to the Italian jewellery innovators, represent “the pinnacle of ingenuity and creativity, original aesthetics and technical perfection”—true masterpieces in every sense.

Artistic expression and eclecticism also define these creations—principles that, since the Maison’s inception in 1884, have shaped its aesthetic evolution and fostered an appreciation for technical skill and decorative detail.

“Being eclectic is part of our DNA,” says Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of the Bvlgari Group. “Rome itself is eclectic—a place where centuries of art coexist, inspire each other, and constantly generate new beauty. Eclettica distills this spirit: different worlds, different arts, converging into one unmistakably Bvlgari creative language.”

And now that creative language is brighter and more comprehensive than ever. Alongside the nine emblematic Capolavori pieces, the Eclettica collection brings fifteen transformable, one-of-a-kind creations and over fifty “millionaire masterpieces” to the jewellery house’s impressive oeuvre.

Each intricate chain and clasp, each karat of polished precious metal, each burst of colour emitted from glittering gemstones serves a purpose: to transcend trends, just as art does. “In shaping Eclettica, I was guided by mesmerising paintings, by audacious volumes that challenged our artisans in new ways, and by architecture, from which I drew the grace of geometry,” says Bvlgari Jewellery’s Creative Director, Lucia Silvestri, of the striking new designs. “Each creation embodies the harmony of contrast, born of multiplicity and transformed into wearable art.”

Some of the most dazzling examples within the Eclettica collection include the Seres Scarf High Jewellery necklace, with a geometric style derived from the Art Deco movement. The white gold neckpiece is composed of over 1,180 individual components (such as sapphires and emeralds), all painstakingly arranged over 1,600 hours of craftsmanship. It is transformable and fluid, reminiscent of the ribbon-like elegance seen in Polish painter Tamara de Lempicka’s Art Deco portraits.

Then there is the majestic Eclectic Embrace High Jewellery collar, which references Moorish mosaics and Florentine architecture to create an ornamental white gold statement piece set with 180 modular elements and a 10.12-carat octagonal Colombian emerald at its centre, surrounded by custom-cut pavé-set diamonds, emeralds, and black onyx.

Elsewhere in the collection, jewellery mavens can expect to be held rapt by the rose gold Emerald Strata High Jewellery necklace, inspired by ancient Corinthian columns, or the sculptural Serpenti Spira cuff, set with an exceptional pear-cut yellow diamond.

Another particular favourite is Bvlgari’s magnificent Secret Garden necklace, which gives even Frances Hodgson Burnett a run for her money. Evoking Roman courtyards cast under a sun-dappled, dusky glow, the necklace balances a remarkably rare pink and orange Padparadscha sapphire with cabochon emeralds to create a resplendent treasure. When worn under the light, it gives the illusion of a dancing kaleidoscope, recalling the beds of bright rosebushes concealed within Rome’s grandest, most intimate gardens.

Though you may not be able to traverse Rome’s cobbled streets, rose gardens, and galleries this summer, the release of Bvlgari’s extraordinary Eclettica collection offers the opportunity not only to admire art but to emulate it in motion—wearing cuffs, necklaces, and rings designed with a decidedly modern, eclectic edge.
