Californian Cool at its Best at The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills

TUCKED just above the legendary Sunset Strip, The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills stands as a refined sanctuary where old-school glamour meets contemporary sophistication. Long a favourite among celebrities, creatives and discerning travellers, it offers an elevated Los Angeles experience that feels effortlessly chic yet warmly welcoming.

The London West Hollywood

The friendly staff and luxurious atmosphere welcomed me from the moment I walked into the lobby, a blend of English townhouse elegance and Californian cool that sets the stage for an establishment that knows its market – style-savvy, comfort-seeking and quietly discerning.

The London is one of the few properties in Los Angeles where every accommodation is a suite, and this distinction is more than symbolic. My suite was impressively large by any standard, with a clean and tailored design accented with bespoke furnishings, muted textures and curated artwork.

In the morning, it was heavenly drinking a coffee out on the private balcony with its cinematic views. The marble bathroom deserves a special mention: dual vanities, soaking tubs and rainfall showers create a spa-like ambiance that’s hard to leave behind. In-room amenities are as refined as expected, with plush linens, minibars and on-point tech.

The London West Hollywood Rooftop Pool

Gate Suite

The crown jewel of The London is its rooftop pool, a sleek, tranquil space with the best panoramic views in LA, plush cabanas and craft cocktails on standby. It’s easy to lose an afternoon here, swaying between sunbathing and stargazing.

Dining is centered around Boxwood, the hotel’s restaurant. Seasonal menus lean into California’s bounty while nodding subtly to British influences, with dishes that are as artful in presentation as they are satisfying in flavour. The breakfast buffet, included for all guests, is a daily highlight: freshly baked pastries, seasonal fruit and custom omelettes served in a light-filled lounge.

The location is wonderful. Situated just minutes from Beverly Hills, Melrose and the vibrant heart of West Hollywood, the hotel is perfectly positioned for both leisure and business travellers. Yet despite its prime site, the property maintains a sense of privacy that feels almost exclusive.

Lobby

The London West Hollywood is more than a place to sleep in, it’s a place to settle into a rhythm of relaxed elegance. With its generous suites, iconic rooftop and quietly attentive service, it’s the kind of place that leaves you planning your return before you’ve even checked out.
