Casablanca Gets Inspired by Japanese aesthetics for its AW25 Campaign

THE Casablanca Autumn/ Winter 2025 collection is inspired by everyday life in Japan.

The country has been carefully observed and experienced by founder and Creative Director Charaf Tajer over two decades, and a respectful exploration of its traditions, cultures, and modern rituals merges with Casablanca brand codes in a collection that pays homage to the spirit and iconography of Japan.

Shot throughout Tokyo by Theo Liu, known for his reality-bending editorials and covers, the AW25 campaign captures random, real moments: sitting down for a meal in a traditional family home with tatami mats on the floor; a girl in an embellished skirt, exploring her adolescent identity, surrounded by the kawaii elements of her childhood; a smartly dressed young professional catching a taxi after work in Shinjuku, skyscrapers gleaming behind him; snapshots from a night out in Harajuku, including scenes from a ‘love hotel’.

The idea of obsession and the way this is experienced in Japanese culture is also explored: anything can be studied, collected, pursued, and mastered – sometimes to a point in which it is fetishised. The Fall campaign draws on these elements, highlighting the urban underbelly of Tokyo, its sometimes unexpected beauty, and the complexity of human relationships.
