Cédrine Scheidig is the winner of the Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents


CHRISTIAN Dior Parfums have announced French-Caribbean photographer Cédrine Scheidig as the winner of the fourth edition of the Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents.

Crowning Scheidig’s photography series It is a Blessing To Be The Colour of Earth, the photographer – who trained at the National School of Photography in Arles – documents self-discovery, diaspora imagination and the intersection between urbanity and nature in her arresting images.

The jury was presided over by Norwegian Photographer Torbjørn Rødland, composed of Chinese multidisciplinary Pixy Liao; founder of the LUMA Foundation Maja Hoffmann; Spanish photographer Coco Capitán and American photographer Tyler Mitchell, amongst many other notable names.

Cédrine Scheidig will receive a €10,000 grant from the house of Dior as well as a creative commission. Scheidig’s photos, along with the works by the 12 finalists will be exhibited at the Forges in the Parc Des Ateliers At Luma Arles this summer.
