Chanel launches eyewear e-commerce in the UK

AS the world becomes increasingly digital, it is only expected that fashion follows suit. Not one to fall behind on any trend, Chanel unveils its first fashion e-commerce website, taking the lead from other fashion houses like Céline who have previously maintained an elusive digital presence but have since stepped onto the e-commerce bandwagon. Chanel’s e-commerce website will focus exclusively on their eyewear collection, in conjunction with the reopening of their Burlington Arcade eyewear boutique and following the introduction of their eyewear e-commerce in the US.

The website will feature a curated collection of eyewear including the classic best-sellers and the latest must-have pieces. Chanel’s first class service is not to be left behind in its boutique either, as each shipment is personally handled by boutique staff. For Chanel, this step into the e-commerce frontier represents a consolidation of the retail experience as the convenience of e-commerce is brought together with the traditional brick-and-mortar boutique. With developments such as this, it comes at no surprise that the fashion world still looks to Chanel as a leader as it enters the digital age.
