JUST in time for the first warm days this Spring, Mayfair’s Chesterfield Hotel opens the doors to its new rooftop bar, Stanley’s – an elegant addition that captures London’s glamour highlighted by the unparalleled hospitality synonymous with the Red Carnation Hotels collection.
Named after the group’s founder, Stanley Tollman, the bar is a considered homage to his warmth and generosity. It invites guests to settle in and enjoy a long conversation or a late evening drink, all while taking in the views of the rooftops of Mayfair. There is a feeling of ease when you enter Stanley’s, a sense of being looked after and feeling at home – a reflection of the brand’s ethos.

The space is bathed in warm hues: burnt-cedar decking, a marble bar that stretches across the whole space, and a wash of rust-toned textures softened by atmospheric lighting. As the sun sets, the bar comes into its own with the rays intensifying its glow. A retractable roof and discreet heating ensure each evening continues undisturbed, regardless of London’s unpredictable weather.

The cocktail list features British highlights such as an array of gin and tonics, spritzes and a few house signatures. Standouts are the crisp Stanley’s Martini or Thymes in Paris, a mix of gin, blackberry liqueur and thyme, served in delicate glassware. Alongside it, guests can order sharing platters of comforting bar snacks which includes staples like cheese toasties, grilled chicken skewers or lobster rolls.
