Dior announces a new exhibition celebrating the Lady Dior handbag

KICKSTARTING Seoul’s Frieze activities, Dior announces their Lady Dior Celebration exhibition. Having first been spotted on the arm of Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, the Lady Dior has been met with unstoppable success.

Forming a cardinal part of Dior’s DNA, the famed cannage-patterned bag continues to be reinvented through artistic projects such as Lady Dior As Seen By and the Dior Lady Art projects.

Now, the Maison has announced the Lady Dior Celebration Exhibition in order to exhibit forty-two never-before-seen interpretations of the bag by a range of multidisciplinary artists. The event will illustrate the timeless, audacious elegance of the Lady Dior in a contemporary, interactive setting.

The exhibition will take place in the Maison’s Seongsu-dong concept store and will highlight the work of twenty-four reputable Korean artists including Bahk Seon Ghi, Choi Jeong Hwa, Gigisue, Gimhongsok and more.

Work from international artists will also feature in the showcase in order to demonstrate the universal adoration of the classic handbag.

Uniting in their mission to spotlight the craftsmanship and everlasting allure of the handbag, the artists perpetuate the ceaseless modification and experimentation of the indispensable Dior product.

The exhibition will be open from Saturday 2nd of September to Sunday the 17th of September at 7 Yeonmujang 5-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
