BRIDGING the gap between now and then, Kim Jones links the contemporary direction in which Dior is heading to now the legacy of Monsieur Dior. Titled CD 1947, this very special capsule collection highlights the new Christian Dior signature with 1947, the year of the first Dior show.

Inspired by the couturier’s personal passion for nature, Jones brought this into the designs by merging sportswear silhouettes and technical fabrics, usually associated with outdoor wear, with the elegance of Dior.

Ranging from ready-to-wear to accessories, CD 1947 is comprised of staple items such as t-shirts and sweatshirts, to items ideal for the upcoming holiday season like Bermuda shorts and the Lingot 50 Bag. As a part of this capsule, Dior collaborated with Birkenstock for the first time, debuting two new shoes – the Tokio mule and Milano sandal.

Beyond the embellishments and products, the Dior grey – the colour favoured by the French fashion House’s founder – will be the main shade of the capsule to pay homage to its history. Taking this ode further, a limited-edition gardening leather set will also be released. Mimicking the curves of the Saddle Bag, the leather-clad shovel and rake are set to become the ultimate accessory this summer for your garden.
