THE LEGACY of The Lady Dior bag is never-ending. The luxury Maison Dior continues to represent this legendary accessory in a new light and once again expresses the refinement of its virtuoso artistry. For this bespoke edition, Dior’s current creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri teamed up with Italian contemporary artist, and long time collaborator, Pietro Ruffo to express the ever-growing fascination with the world’s crafts.
The emblematic bag was crafted around a wooden mould adapted to its exact proportions and features exquisite leatherwork showcasing a three-dimensional effect of the Rêve d’Infini motif crafted through the sbalzo technique.
The intricate details result in a profusion of delicate features, including the signature compass rose, flowers, the Sevillian knot, along with the poetic motto “Déploie tes ailes et rêve d’infini” (“Spread your wings and dream of infinity”). In addition, a point of the well-known savoury is the D-I-O-R charms and eyelets; they are the finishing touch on the classic design, symbolising fervour, mastery, and perpetual innovation.
