DIOR have launched a pop-up exhibition at their New Bond Street store showcasing their new Grand Bal timepieces.

According to luxury French house, the oscillating weights of the watches are inspired by twirling of gown that the founder saw at a ball. He wrote in his memoirs, “Events of this order are true works of art. They are desirable, necessary and important if they restore the taste and meaning of authentic celebrations.” Alongside the watches, several of the gowns designed by Christian Dior himself and his successors that inspired the designs are displayed simultaneously in miniature form.
