THE lockdown has now ended and the lights of London turned back on. With everything somewhat returning to normal, The Dorchester has re-opened their doors and have begun celebrating the festivities. Every December, the hotel transforms into its annual Letter to Father Christmas décor where guests will be able to write to him and post it through a special red post box – mixing the best of London and the season together.
Christmas at The Dorchester
New for this year, The Dorchester is launching a Winter Garden situated underneath the famous plane tree. With a view of the famous Christmas decorations, the Winter Garden has two private Garden Globes that seat up to five guests.
Johnstons of Elgin blankets are there to cosy up to when you are feeling the cold and the specially curated menu designed by the hotel’s chefs, in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot, will satisfy all your holiday cravings! All four head chefs (Mario Perera, Tom Booton, Daniel Texter and Alain Ducasse) have come together to create this menu.

Highlights from the three-course menu include the chestnut soup with bacon and brussels sprouts to start, the grilled dry salt cote de boeuf as a main course, and to finish it off, a traditional Christmas pudding that has been set alight.
For those looking for a longer visit to The Dorchester, the hotel is offering Christmas stays. Special Christmas at The Dorchester experiences includes three nights for two people – checking in on Christmas Eve. For Christmas Day, a full English breakfast is served even in your room or The Promenade before presents are handed out.
Christmas Lunch at The Dorchester
Christmas lunch is served in The Gold Room where a five-course meal is served – or, an alternative is to have a reinterpreted six-course Christmas lunch by three Michelin starred Alain Ducasse.
And on your final day, Boxing Day, a brunch is made by head chef Tom Booton in The Grill with an optional festive pyjama party for the whole family to enjoy. A large selection of films and hot chocolate and popcorn will be there for families to enjoy.
With a vast array of options, The Dorchester seems like a wonderful place to take the family this Christmas!
